In any online community, engagement is king. One way to ensure your engagement metrics are as healthy as possible is for every discussion posted to be replied to and every question asked to be answered.
In this article, you'll learn how to use two specific Widgets to achieve this:
- Latest Discussions List
- Latest Q&A List
Specifically, we're going to configure these Widgets to only show content that has not been replied to or answered. This way, these posts are properly highlighted to help them get the attention they deserve.
NOTE: This article assumes you're already familiar with how to use the CMS and Page Designer to edit pages and Widgets. If you're not, check out Understand the CMS and Build Page Layout and Content before continuing.
Latest Discussions List
You likely already have this Widget, with its default configuration, on your site landing page and/or community Home pages to provide the latest discussion content.
We recommend adding another "version" of this Widget in a location that makes sense (perhaps in a sidebar). Then, configure it as follows:
- Show Add Button in Header? - No
- Show Only Threads Without Replies? - Yes
- Show Unique Threads? - Yes
Set any other options as desired, save the Widget, and Publish the page. With this configuration, the Widget will only show discussion posts with no replies.
Latest Q&A List
Just like with the Latest Discussions List Widget, you likely already have this one, with its default configuration, on your site landing page and/or community Home pages to provide the latest questions.
We recommend adding another "version" of this Widget in a location that makes sense (perhaps in a sidebar). Then, configure it as follows:
- Show Add Button in Header? - No
- Show Unique Threads? - Yes
- Widget Filter - Click the dropdown and select Show Only Questions Without Answers.
Set any other options as desired, save the Widget, and Publish the page.
