Higher Logic Thrive Jobs enables you to enhance your community members' experience by making your Higher Logic Thrive Community a career-management hub. With it, relevant career opportunities stream right into your Thrive Community feed, while a search feature enables your members to proactively seek out what they’re looking for.
Overview
This is a widget-based tool that is powered by Web Scribble, bringing your members' careers to the center of the experience by offering:
- an industry-leading jobs-posting board (powered by Web Scribble),
- easy-to-manage widgets that can be added to your existing community experience,
- job postings right in the main Activity Feed widget, with links to more information and similar job postings.
The benefits are three-fold because it:
- enhances the career-management experience for your community members;
- boosts engagement and increases retention for your association;
- and boosts non-dues revenue for your association by receiving a portion of each paid job posting.
Higher Logic Thrive Jobs in the Activity Feed
NOTE: Higher Logic will configure this for you during your Thrive Jobs implementation.
The Member Home page is generally the main page visited by your members.
- It provides access to their Activity Feed, which dynamically updates with job postings and career information that is tailored to each member based on their profile data and browsing history.
- An example job posting in the Activity Feed is highlighted in the image below.
Navigation links (optional)
Located at the top of every page in your community, the Navigation Bar is what your members use to view your community's various pages and content.
- This makes it the perfect place to add links to your Web Scribble Career Center and other job-specific content you want your users to see and have easy access to. If this interests you, we recommend adding a link to your navigation bar called "Careers" or "Jobs," like you see below.
- You can link to your career center or create additional navigation links to other career center resources from Web Scribble. If you need assistance adding a navigation item to your Navigation Bar, reach out to us for assistance.
Widgets (optional)
Site and Super Admins can add Widgets or RSS Feeds that display jobs in your Thrive Community. Let's learn how to add an HTML Widget to host Jobs content.
NOTE: If you need assistance performing the steps outlined below, or have questions about adding and configuring any of the Widgets discussed in this section, create a case.
- Navigate to the “publishers” page in your Web Scribble instance to retrieve the embed code. TIP: Get to your "publishers" page by appending /publishers to the end of your Web Scribble URL (e.g., if your Web Scribble instance is www.testingcooljobs.com, your "publishers" page would be www.testingcooljobs.com/publishers).
- In Higher Logic, Edit the page where you'd like to add your Widget and insert an HTML Widget.
- Click the HTML button to access the source code and add the HTML you copied from the Web Scribble publishers page in Step 1.
- Save the Widget, and then publish the page to apply your changes.
Other Widgets
You can also use other Higher Logic Thrive Widgets to link to Thrive Jobs content, such as Featured Cards and Quick Links.
Featured Cards example
This an example of using the Featured Cards Widget as a full-width, eye-catching banner.
Quick Links example
Quick Link Widgets are typically placed on the left or right side of a page (in the "sidebar") to provide easy access to important links.
Career Demographics (optional)
You can build new Demographics to collect data about a user's career history and professional talents. A great place for these career demographics is the user profile. An example of career demographics you can create are below:
- Career experience
- Job seeking status
- Desired salary
- Location
Our best practice is to create Jobs-specific Ribbons or Badges and then leverage Automation Rules to assign them to your members based on their job-related activity.
For example, you could create a Demographic for the user profile named "Open to Work." Once a member selects the "open to work" option in their Talent Profile, an Automation Rule can be configured to automatically award them the "Open to Work" Ribbon.
