We are currently undergoing updates to our internal Single Sign-On (SSO) certificates and we have identified your Online Community site as being affected by this update.
The pending update to our internal SSO certificate is to extend its expiration and to be in compliance with the Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML) standard. Higher Logic uses this certificate to sign our SAML requests for security when interacting with your Identity Provider (IDP) when your users log in to the community site through SSO.
These would be SAML login requests and SAML logout requests, and responses from Higher Logic. The certificate is that which should have been provided to you by Higher Logic during the implementation of your SSO and which Higher Logic uses to sign any requests originating from within Higher Logic.
NOTE: This is not the certificate that is used to sign your SAML assertions; that is your certificate that you have provided to us.
Update information
Note that there is currently no immediate action required on your part.
IMPORTANT: Higher Logic plans to roll out this update on January 17, 2024 at 5:00 PM ET.
At that time, the attached updated certificate must already be installed on the HigherLogic Client/Service Provider/Entity in your IDP in order to be ready for this update.
Higher Logic recommends that you:
- Download the ZIP file, HL2024SAMLCert.zip, that is attached at the bottom of this article.
- Install the file and replace the current certificate you have (right before or very near the scheduled rollout time).
TIP: If you have any questions, send an email to support@higherlogic.com and mention that the request should be sent to Joe DeGuzman on the Integration Services team.
