Advanced Solutions International (ASI) has announced updates to the security settings on all of their IQAs.
NOTE: ASI has recommended the settings outlined in this article as a best practice. If you have questions or have been advised to use different settings, please reach out to ASI and your AiSP for clarification.
The user provided for Higher Logic needs to have API access, and a level of access that allows access to secured IQAs.
Update information & getting help
ASI has released the security-settings updates and your Higher Logic integration requires only a minor, but important, update in order to ensure uninterrupted operation.
The required updates and where to perform them in your Higher Logic environment are detailed below.
- If you have any questions about the security changes, contact your ASI/iMIS representative.
- If you experience any issues with your Higher Logic integration, create a case with Higher Logic Support.
iMIS EMS and Informz
If you have integrated iMIS EMS/Cloud with Informz, do the following.
Review the security settings for every IQA that is under a HigherLogic folder.
- Click the dropdown under Access Mode and select All Staff Full Control.
- Make sure that the Available via the REST API box is checked.
iMIS EMS and Online Community
If you have integrated iMIS EMS/Cloud with Online Community, check your CustomDemographics IQA and do the following:
- Click the dropdown under Access Mode and select All Staff Full Control.
- Make sure that the Available via the REST API box is checked.
iMIS 2017 and Online Community, Informz, or both
If you have integrated iMIS 2017 with Online Community, Informz, or both, do the following.
Review the security settings for every IQA that is under a HigherLogic folder and/or an Informz folder.
- Click the dropdown under Access Mode and select All Staff Full Control.
NOTE: iMIS 2017 does not have the Available via the REST API box.
Informz Linked Server / UPI IQA integration (iMIS 2017 and earlier)
This integration uses IQAs that are called via the iMIS SOAP API.
NOTE: These IQAs must be secured differently than IQAs that are accessed via the REST API.
Authentication
This integration's security settings are dependent on whether your web service requires authentication, and whether you want to make your IQAs more secure.
Authentication required
If your web service already requires authentication, you don't have to change your security access for this latest security-settings update.
Authentication not required
If your web service does not require authentication, you should change your security access for this latest security-settings update.
- On the IQA's Security tab, set Access mode to Share (Everyone).
Credentialing
This integration can be secured by requiring credentials to access via queryservice endpoint.
