Some customers have reported that they are unable to download and save the file—the process by which an event gets created in an Outlook calendar.
- The issue is with the default app settings of Outlook (new).
TIP: The "fix" that is provided below has proven successful for many customers. We recommend that you follow these steps before creating a Support case.
NOTE: The following instructions were created based on the Windows 11 Pro environment. Your experience might be very different depending on your device and operating system.
- Access System Settings on your device.
- Click Apps in the navigation and choose Default apps in the Apps list.
- Scroll down and click Outlook (new).
- Locate the .ics setting and click it to set a default.
- On the selection panel, click Outlook (new) and click the Set default button.
