On the Anonymous Posting page, you can control whether anonymous posting is enabled or disabled, and even enable it only for specific communities.
How to access the Anonymous Posting page
- Click Admin in the Webmaster Links menu.
- Click Admin.
- Select Anonymous Posting from the Communities > Discussions > Setup menu.
Anonymous Posting page overview
On this page, you can manage the following anonymous posting settings (refer to the table below for descriptions of each):
|Allow anonymous posting||
This toggle controls whether anonymous posting is enabled or disabled across ALL community Discussions.
NOTE: Set Allow anonymous posting? to Yes to display the remaining fields.
|Allow anonymous posts for these communities||
You can limit Anonymous Posting to specific communities by selecting them in this menu OR enable it for ALL communities by not selecting any.
If enabled, the Post message anonymously option is available when posting a message (below the From field).
|Allow anonymity for these types of posts||
Here, you can allow anonymity for:
|Moderate anonymous posting regardless of community moderation settings||
If YES, anonymous posts are queued in moderation regardless of a community's Moderation setting.
If NO, anonymous posts respect a community's Moderation setting.
|Messaging for visible alert when posting or replying anonymously||This is the message displayed to users who decide to post or reply to a post anonymously. It's generally used to explain the reasoning behind anonymous posting, and to remind users posting this way to respect the community's terms and conditions.|
|Messaging for pop-up alert when message is posted||This is the message displayed to users after posting anonymously. It's generally used to remind users that, while their name won't be associated to their post, no electronic communication is completely untraceable.|
|Prefix text added to all anonymous posts or replies||
This is the text prefixed to all anonymous posts or replies.
Example: "This message was posted by a user wishing to remain anonymous."
