The Higher Logic Thrive Marketing Professional (Thrive Marketing Professional) for Personify360 integration allows organizations to leverage the strengths of Personify360 and Thrive Marketing Professional to create effective and efficient email marketing campaigns.
Personify360 Features
This integration delivers the following features:
- Retrieval of Marketing Lists from Personify360 into Thrive Marketing Professional.
- Retrieval of Interests and Demographic lists from Personify360 into Thrive Marketing Professional.
- Retrieval of the Personify360 customers from each list into Thrive Marketing Professional.
- Automatic and manual syncing of target groups and target group records.
- Use of Personify360 fields to create personalized mailings.
- Use of Thrive Marketing Professional activities written to Personify360 (unsubscribes, resubscribes, mailing activity, and IPM subscriber preferences).
Bridge Configuration
While it's possible to get everything from Personify360, sometimes you don't need everything. When this is the case, you can manage the attributes (used for target groups, personalizations, etc.) that are used to connect data between Thrive Marketing Professional and Personify360.
You can configuring the bridge between Thrive Marketing Professional and Personify360 on the Bridge Configuration page. To access this page, navigate to Admin > Setup > Bridge Configuration.
Attributes
Click List of Attributes to display the Personify360 fields that you can use for personalization or data formats. If you don't wish to use a particular field for data, simply uncheck the corresponding box.
Doing this reduces the list size of available personalization fields making selection by staff faster and more manageable. In the event you have a future need of a field that you suppressed, you can easily check the Is Valid checkbox reenabling it.
You can also edit the Comment, Display Name, and Personalization Default fields. These attribute settings will stay within Thrive Marketing Professional; they do not affect data in Personify360.
Click Submit to save your changes.
Diagnostics
Click Check Connection to verify that Thrive Marketing Professional can connect with Personify360. If you have any trouble with your connection, create a case.
Cached Personalizations
Thrive Marketing Professional allows remote personalization fields to display as table columns. These personalizations are ultimately cached in Thrive Marketing Professional, and they refresh once a week (through a weekly behind-the-scenes process) or manually. When enabled, these personalization fields appear as selectable columns in any subscriber listing, and you can preview data in those fields.
NOTE: When you publish a mailing to a remote subscriber, Thrive Marketing Professional inserts personalization values based on the tiered-approach logic that is described in Personalization Caching for Integrations.
Activating Cached Personalizations
You must select the fields you wish to cache from the List of Attributes page (Admin > Setup > Bridge Configuration).
NOTE: You can select up to 20 fields (you’ll receive an error if you attempt to select additional fields).
As mentioned above, selected personalization fields sync weekly. Additionally, you can sync on an ad-hoc basis by clicking Refresh Personalization Cache on the Bridge Configuration page.
Testing Personalizations
- To test your integrated personalizations, open the Target Group information pop-up window and click the Subscribers tab.
- Click Columns and add the personalized field that you wish to preview – simply click the Plus Sign (+) that corresponds to the personalization you wish to view.
- Click OK to save your changes. Now, when you view the columns, you’ll see all the personalization fields with the appropriate previews.
Personalizations
Thrive Marketing Professional pulls data from Personify360 and uses the corresponding fields to personalize a mailing. You select a personalization field to insert into a mailing from the editor toolbar.
Personalization fields have a code with the following format:
%%WSI||Fieldname%%
The data to fill the code will be retrieved from Personify360 during the Mailing Send process.
NOTE: Personalization data is not stored locally in Thrive Marketing Professional. The data is collected from Personify360 just before the mailing is sent from Thrive Marketing Professional.
Using the Personalization View in Personify360
To personalize mailings, Thrive Marketing Professional requires a custom view in your Personify360 database. This view is set up during the implementation process (when first establishing an integration between Thrive Marketing Professional and Personify360). You may require assistance from Personify to create the view.
The view must contain the required fields listed below:
- MASTER_CUSTOMER_ID
- SUB_CUSTOMER_ID
- PRIMARY_EMAIL_ADDRESS
You can include as many additional fields as desired to meet your personalization needs. For example, you may use First Name, Last Name, Company, City, etc. Thrive Marketing Professional will only display the personalization fields included in this view.
NOTE: Any time fields are added or removed from a view, the DLL files must be regenerated from within the Personify360 Database Designer. The regenerated files must then be shared with Thrive Marketing Professional. Likewise, if your instance of Personify360 is upgraded, or you have a service pack installed, you will need to recreate the view, regenerate the DLLs, and share them with Thrive Marketing Professional.
Personify360 Updates
Any time you modify the personalization view, the DLL files must be regenerated from within Personify360 Database Designer and shared with Thrive Marketing Professional.
If your instance of Personify360 is upgraded, or you have installed a service pack, you will need to recreate the Thrive Marketing Professional Personalization view, regenerate the DLL files, and then share them with Thrive Marketing Professional.
There are several DLL files for Personify360 version located in the Personify360 installation directory:

Update System Settings
Users with Admin permissions can modify the system settings within Thrive Marketing Professional.
- Navigate to Admin > System Settings and scroll to the bottom of the page.
- Click Edit Integration Settings.
Test Settings
- You test these settings by navigating to Admin > Setup > Bridge Configuration.
- Click Check Connection. The resulting page displays the connection status.
View Thrive Marketing Professional mailing data in Personify360
As a result of having writebacks from Thrive Marketing Professional to Personify360, there is an abundance of data visible in Personify360.
Every time a mailing activity writeback occurs, additional information about the associated Thrive Marketing Professional mailing is visible in Personify360. This is affiliated with a customer record in Personify360. Knowing that this mailing level data is easily visible in Personify360, you now have an easy way to verify what mailing was sent to which customer.

- Search for a customer record.
- In the Customer Activity Details page, click Activity Detail.
This opens the Details view for that mailing.
