The All Events List widget and the Upcoming Events List widget in Page Designer are two convenient ways to display "events" information on your community site. These widgets have numerous parameters that Super Admins and Site Admins can customize and "fine tune" in order to create several types of event lists and calendar displays.
In the Category dropdown in Page Designer, you'll find:
- the All Events List widget under Event and the Upcoming Events List widget under Feeds.

Display events on a calendar page
The standard Higher Logic community-site configuration includes the Upcoming Events page, which is accessible in the Events dropdown menu in your site's main Navigation Bar:
This is where users will go to search for upcoming events.
NOTE: Higher Logic community sites are designed to be very customizable. Your site might not have an Events dropdown; instead, clicking Events might directly open the Upcoming Events page.
The default configuration of this page includes the All Events List widget, so it lists your organization's upcoming events.
NOTE: You can create additional calendar pages with the All Events List widget and configure it to display only those events that are associated to a specific community or Event Type.
- Click the Show Filter button to display the following filters. (The button changes to Hide Filter.)
- Specify one or more keywords and/or use the dropdowns to search for events.
- Click Apply Filter.
The page refreshes and displays events based on the filtering.
Display events via a landing page content item
You can add the Upcoming Events List widget to any page on which you want to feature a brief list of upcoming events. This widget is typically added to:
- community site's Home pages (shown below),
- community microsite Home pages, and
- community Landing Pages.
NOTE: On community microsites and landing pages, the widget defaults to showing only those events that are associated to the community for that microsite or landing page.
Widget configuration note
When the widget is configured, the Max Number of Events to Show in List setting lets Admins set a "display-maximum" threshold for the number of events that display in the widget.
If the Show More Link at Bottom of List setting is toggled to Yes and the number of events exceeds the abovementioned threshold, a "view more" link will display below the list of events, as shown in the widget image above.
- The text of the link (e.g., More Events!) is customizable.
- When the "view more" link is clicked, your Upcoming Events page (https://<your_community>/events/calendar) opens.
