The reports that are available in the Message Summary Reports (MSR) offer unique data for various aspects of your mailings, such as recipient engagement, responses to message-based advertisements, and link clicks.
In addition to reviewing a report that has data on a specific activity, you can apply several filters in order to:
- limit the size of the report and the number of results it displays and
- focus on the exact data you want (e.g., based on a date range or which templates were used).
This article describes the filters that are available on the Select Messages tab.
NOTE: References to Message Summary Reports reflect a rebranding initiative. Message Summary Reports and Mailing Summary Reports refer to the same set of reports with the same options and functionality.

Message Summary Reports filters
The table below describes each of the available filters.
- The filters that are available to you are based on your Higher Logic Thrive Marketing Professional (Thrive Marketing Professional) account.
- For example, if you're not using folders to organize your messages, the Folders filter will not display.
Accounts - If you use Child Accounts, you can filter your messages by the accounts under your Parent Account. For example, an organization uses a Parent Account and two Child Accounts to send messages to their members in Europe and in Canada. This organization can filter the MSR on these geographical locations.
Folders - If you organize your contact communications in separate message folders, you can filter on these folders in order to pinpoint message types or groups.
Target Group - Filter on your Target Groups, by Folder and name.
Message Name - If you use naming conventions for your messages (recommended), filter on a message name to more easily find the appropriate messages. Note that when you filter by message name, the characters you enter in the field are not case sensitive, but they must appear in the exact order of the message name.
Message Subject - If you use an established convention for your message subjects, filter on that text to more easily find the appropriate messages. Note that when you filter by message subject, the characters you enter in the field are not case sensitive, but they must appear in the exact order of the message subject.
Date Range - Use the calendars to specify (or manually input) a date range on which to filter. This is an easy way to further refine your results.
Number of Recipients/Contacts - If you send distinct messages to small and large audiences, use the double-ended slider to set thresholds based on send volume.
Templates - If you have sent messages that are based on different templates so that you can compare the effectiveness of different templates, select those templates here see how each performed compared to the others.
Accounting Codes - If you group messages by Accounting Codes, you can specify those codes here in order to filter on just those messages. |
