NOTE: View the New Admin Experience version of this article.
On the Application Forms page, located in the Admin interface, you can create volunteer application forms that can be applied at the Opportunity Type level (if its Submission Type is set to Require Approval). The best part is you can create as many forms as you want, giving you the flexibility to build a library of forms to fit your various Opportunity Types.
Access the Application Forms page
- Click Admin in the Webmaster Links menu.
- Click Admin.
- Navigate to Volunteer > Settings > Volunteer Application Forms.
Managing Application Forms
On the Application Forms page, you can edit and delete any existing forms, and create new ones by clicking Add.
NOTE: If an Opportunity Type's Submission Type is set to Require Approval, admins can then choose to build a unique application form for each Opportunity.
Create an Application Form
To create a form, simply click-and-drag the desired Content Elements on the right to the Application box on the left. You can order your elements by hovering one element above or below another element.
Most elements can be made a Required field, forcing applicants to fill them out, and you can add Help text to them if you want to provide instructions or explain a field's purpose in more detail.
To remove a field from your application, click-and-drag it out of the Application box.
Your site's custom user profile Demographics (created on the Admin > Users > Demographics page) are available as elements on the Demographics tab.
Be sure to click Save at the bottom of the page when you're finished.
Associate an Application to an Opportunity Type
Application forms can only be used for Opportunity Types with a Submission Type set to Require Approval. If so, an Application Form menu appears below where you can select an application form. All of the custom application forms you've created will be listed in this menu.
NOTE: If you don't want to use a specific application form, you can also selected the Create a new application form with form builder option to have admins create a new application when creating opportunities.
When creating opportunities of this type, on the Application Builder step, the chosen application is shown for review but no changes can be made.
