Any idea that is created on your site can be deleted, for any reason, and regardless of its Status or who submitted it.
- All community users can delete their own ideas.
- Super Admins can delete any idea, regardless of who submitted it.
- NOTE: Super Admins are the only community users who can delete other users' ideas.
This article describes how:
- Super Admins and users who submit ideas can delete ideas in the community and
- Super Admins can delete ideas in the Admin interface.
Delete ideas - community users
Users who submit ideas can delete those ideas on the Ideation home page and on an idea's Details page.
WARNING: Deleting an idea is immediate and irrevocable. After confirming the deletion, you cannot "undelete" a deleted idea.
Ideation home page
- Navigate to the Ideation Home page.
- Locate the idea that you want to delete and click the ellipsis icon (...) in the upper right of the card.
- Click Delete.
- At the confirmation prompt, click Delete Idea.
NOTE: The idea and any associated comments and attachments are immediately and permanently deleted.
Idea's Details page
- Navigate to the Ideation Home page.
- Locate the idea that you want to delete and click its title.
- On the idea's Details page, click the down-arrow icon in the upper right of the page.
- Click Delete.
- At the confirmation prompt, click Delete Idea.
NOTE: The idea and any associated comments and attachments are immediately and permanently deleted.
Delete ideas - Super Admins
Super Admins can delete any user's idea:
- on the Ideation home page,
- on an idea's Details page, and
- in the Admin interface.

Ideation home page
- Navigate to the Ideation Home page.
- Locate the idea that you want to delete and click the ellipsis icon (...) in the upper right of the card.
- Click Delete.
- At the confirmation prompt, you can choose whether to notify the idea's submitter when you confirm the deletion; click Delete Idea.
NOTE: The idea and any associated comments and attachments are immediately and permanently deleted. If the "Notify" box was checked, an email message is sent to the user who submitted the idea, indicating that the idea has been deleted.
TIP: The idea is added to the Deleted ideas list (Feedback > Ideation > List) in the Admin interface.
Idea's Details page
- Navigate to the Ideation Home page.
- Locate the idea that you want to delete and click its title.
- On the idea's Details page, click the down-arrow icon in the upper right of the page.
- Click Delete.
- At the confirmation prompt, you can choose whether to notify the idea's submitter when you confirm the deletion; click Delete Idea.

TIP: The idea is added to the Deleted ideas list (Feedback > Ideation > List) in the Admin interface.
Admin interface
Super Admins can delete ideas — individually and in bulk — on the Ideation list page.
- In the Admin Toolbar, click Admin.
- Navigate to Feedback > Ideation > List.
The Ideas list defaults to your Active ideas. You can also access a list of ideas that have been deleted.
Deleted ideas list
The Deleted ideas list is simply a historical record of deleted ideas.
- Click the down arrow to the right of the page title and click Deleted.
- You cannot "undeleted" or "re-activate" a deleted idea.
- You can search for deleted ideas and apply a filter to the list.
- The Delete and Update buttons are inactive on this list.
Delete one idea
- Select an idea in the list.
- At the top right, click Delete.
- At the confirmation prompt:
- verify that one idea will be deleted;
- choose whether to notify the idea's submitter when you confirm the deletion; and
- click Delete.
NOTE: The idea and any associated comments and attachments are immediately and permanently deleted. If the "Notify" box was checked, an email message is sent to the user who submitted the idea, indicating that the idea has been deleted.
TIP: The idea is added to the Deleted ideas list.
Delete multiple ideas with multi-select
You can save time by "bulk-deleting" multiple ideas simultaneously.
- Select an idea in the list by clicking its row or its left-column "select" checkbox.
- Select additional ideas by:
- clicking more idea rows or left-column "select" checkboxes; or
- using "Shift + click" (refer to Select multiple continuous rows, below); or
- performing a combination of these.
- At the top right, click Delete.
- At the confirmation prompt:
- verify the number of ideas that will be deleted;
- choose whether to notify the ideas' submitters when you confirm the deletion; and
- click Delete.
NOTE: The ideas and any associated comments and attachments are immediately and permanently deleted. If the "Notify" box was checked, an email message is sent to the users who submitted the ideas, indicating that the idea has been deleted.
TIP: The ideas are added to the Deleted ideas list.
Select multiple continuous rows
The left-most column of this list has "select" checkboxes. You can:
- check the boxes of several rows (sequential or non-sequential) or
- check the box in the header row to select all (and deselect all) rows.
You can also use the following key-click method of multi-select.
- To select a continuous list of rows: click one row, then hold the Shift key and click the last row that you want to include. The first and last rows and all rows between them are selected.
TIP: After multi-selecting, BUT BEFORE acting on the selected rows, you can select and deselect rows via their left-column "select" checkboxes.
