Click View Tracking is a reporting feature designed to visually and quantitatively track which contacts clicked on which links in your sent email messages. Its main purpose is to give you a detailed, interactive snapshot of click activity, letting you see—link by link, and version by version—which elements of your message attracted the most engagement.

Tracks contacts who clicked links: For each email message you’ve sent, Click View Tracking records and displays the contacts who clicked each hyperlink in the message.
Displays activity for multiple message versions: If a message was revised and sent in different versions (for instance, updated and resent as part of a campaign), you can toggle between versions to see click data specific to each. The dropdown menu in the Click View Tracking window allows you to select the "version"—corresponding to a unique send or scheduled send.
Visual "heat map" representation: Click View Tracking is akin to a visual heat map overlay for the HTML version of the email. It graphically displays which areas (links, buttons, images) received clicks, helping you assess what content or calls-to-action were most engaging.
Links and recipient details: For each tracked link, you can typically see unique click counts and recipient details—showing who interacted, how many times, and on which link within the message.
Access Click View Tracking
To view Click-View Tracking for a sent message:
- Navigate to the Messages > List page.
- Select a message and click the Track dropdown > Message.
- On the resulting page, scroll down to the Links section and click the Click View Tracking link.
You're now on the "Click-View Tracking" page for the message. At the top left is a dropdown called Previously Sent Versions of this Message. If applicable to your message, you can use this dropdown to view tracking data for each of its previously sent versions.
Click metrics are visible right on the page, right next to their associated links (see the image below).
“Versions” correspond to the snapshots used to send the message. In order to be selectable, the message must have been scheduled to send to a group/individual, or it must have already been sent by a Marketing Automation campaign.
Since the same snapshot can be used for different send actions, multiple send actions may be incorporated in the same version. Versions are listed by either:
- the last send date for the version (if it was sent by Marketing Automation), or
- the last scheduled send date of each version (if sent to a group or individual). The last scheduled send date may be in the future.
The data shown for each version is for that version only.
