The Canadian Anti Spam Law (CASL) requires marketers to obtain the express consent from any recipient that can be reasonably assumed resides in Canada before sending them electronic communications.
In this article, we will cover how to identify Canadian recipients in your account and then group them to simplify future management. If you have:
- New Admin Experience - refer to the instructions in Advanced Search.
- Classic Admin interface - refer to the instructions in Marketing Automation Search.
NOTE: The processes detailed in this article will not identify Canadian recipients who have an email address that is not specific to Canada, or who have not provided identifying information. The best way to be compliant is to maintain good email list hygiene.
By performing these searches and creating a "Canadian-recipients" group, you will isolate the Canadian recipients in your Higher Logic Thrive Marketing Enterprise (Thrive Marketing Enterprise) account. Future Canadian recipients can be added to this group to help ensure compliance with the CASL.
