If you're including advertisements in your messages, the Mailing Summary Report has two reports that will help you analyze how effective they are.
- The Advertisements Summary provides data that you can use to keep your advertising relationships productive.
- Mailings With Advertisements is a great resource for seeing how well your messages with advertisements are performing with regards to opens and clicks.
NOTE: References to Message Summary Reports reflect a current rebranding initiative. Message Summary Reports and Mailing Summary Reports refer to the same set of reports with the same options and functionality.
Access the Message Summary Reports
Classic admin interface
- Navigate to Mailings > Reports > Mailing Summary Reports.
New Admin Experience
- Navigate to Messages > Reports > Message Summary Reports.
Advertisements Summary report
To view this report, expand the Advertisements folder and click Summary.
The initial view shows a list of advertisements, along with their click and message statistics.
Click the plus (+) icon to expand the advertisement listing and see more details about the messages in which the advertisement appears.
Click the Columns buttons above the list to access the column selector dialog where you can add and remove columns.
You can Remove all, Add all, or use the - and + signs to select individual columns for your report.
Mailings with Ads report
To view this report, expand the Advertisements folder and click Mailings with Ads.
This report provides message level data. Use the column headers to sort on the data that you want to use to organize your analysis. The data can be exported to a spreadsheet for further manipulation, analysis, and reporting outside of Communications Professional.

Search and share
- Search - In both of these reports, you can use the search function to further refine the report results based on any data that is available in the columns you've selected. Click Search at the top of the report list to further refine your report.
- Share - In both of these reports, you can use the export option to share this report with colleagues. Click Export at the top of the report list and then click Download Excel File in the resulting pop-up.
