Template Designer Layouts
In Template Designer, Layouts are the "building blocks" with which you create the design of the template — and which will eventually be used by, and populated within, the messages that are based on the template.
- The layouts are accessible on the Build sub-tab of the Design tab in Template Designer.
- There are several groupings of layouts (e.g., Structure, Static Elements) and each grouping has a unique collection of purpose-built layouts, as shown in the image below. The individual layouts:
-
- simplify your work by each having a layout-specific, pre-configured design, such as the Image Gallery layout being prepopulated with six image placeholders.
- make it easier for you to add distinct elements to your message.
- are described in dedicated articles in this section of the knowledge base.
Template layout notes
- You can add layouts when you create a template and when you edit an existing template; the process is the same.
- Template layouts have built-in HTML to ensure that your message renders properly across all devices and email clients.
- When you add a layout to a template, the template's properties are locked. The template's properties cannot be changed in Message Designer when the template is used as the foundation for a message. Content can be added to the layout to create the message only.
