Site and Super admins can enable and configure a cookie notification and acknowledgment for community sites. The message can be customized, and you can link to your organization's privacy or cookie policy. In the banner, users can click a customizable Learn more link to read more about your organization's policy(ies) and click a customizable button to acknowledge the cookie notification.
Let's learn how to enable and configure the Cookie Notification, and customize a few aspects of its visual design.
Enable & configure
By default, the cookie notification is disabled and must be manually enabled and configured.
To do so:
- In the Admin Toolbar, click Site Options.
- Click Site Setup.
- Navigate to the Layout tab.
- Scroll down to the Cookie Notification option and toggle it to YES. A set of configuration options expand.
- You can configure the following options:
Field | Description |
---|---|

|
Policy Link | Enter the URL to your organization's cookie policy. |
Message | This is the message you want displayed in the notification.
EXAMPLE: "This website uses cookies to ensure you get the best experience on our website." |
Accept button text | This is the text for the button users click to acknowledge the notification (the default is "OK"). |
Policy link text | This is the text for the link users click to view your organization's privacy policy (the default is "Learn more"). |
- Click Finish at the bottom of the page to display the Cookie Notification to users when they log in. It will continue to display until a user clicks the button to acknowledge it.
Customize cookie visual design
Site and Super admins can customize a few visual aspects of the Cookie Notification to make it adhere to your organization's aesthetic.

- Click Themes.
NOTE: If you're already in the Site Setup interface, you can also get to this page by navigating to the Theme Editor tab.
- Edit the Theme associated to your community site.
- On the Misc. tab (scroll to the bottom), you can customize the Cookie Notification's background color and text color.
- Click Save to apply your changes.
NOTE: While not directly customizable, note that the Cookie Notification's Accept button inherits the color selected in the Primary Color menu, located on the Main Colors tab.
