Before you begin
- Review the Salesforce Integration Articles to answer general questions about the integration.
- The integration allows for you to connect your Salesforce AMS directly to Higher Logic Thrive Marketing Professional (Thrive Marketing Professional).
- Ensure that your Thrive Marketing Professional product is licensed for an integration. You can do this by confirming with your Implementation Project Manager or by creating a case.
Getting Started
- Complete Install & Configure Salesforce for Informz
- Configure the credentials for your account

Access the integration settings by logging into Thrive Marketing Professional.

Navigate to Admin

Select System Settings

Click Edit Integration Settings and complete the form values:
- Partner Service Address (URL)*
- Metadata Service Address (URL)*
- Thrive Marketing Professional integration username: This is the Salesforce Username created in the setup steps
- Thrive Marketing Professional integration password: This is the password for the Salesforce Username
- Token: This is the Security Token for the Salesforce user

Post-Configuration Steps
Once the integration is completed:
- Review the Salesforce Integration Articles
- Create a report in Salesforce and upload a Target Group
- Enable tracking - initially the tracking information will sync for the last two weeks. We recommend that you select every tracking activity - this can be disabled at a later point.
Advanced Testing
Syncing - Target Group List Sync
- In Thrive Marketing Professional, navigate to Subscribers -> Target Groups
- Select the "Salesforce Contacts" target group folder
- Click on "Refresh Target Group List"
- Confirm that the sample distribution list is visible in the Target Group List
Syncing - Individual Target Group Sync
- Hover over the sample distribution list and click "Info"
- Click on "sync"
- Confirm that the sync successfully displays the record in the sample distribution list
Personalization - Send a mailing with personalization
- In Thrive Marketing Professional, navigate to Admin -> Setup -> Bridge Configuration
- Under Personalization Attributes, click List of Personalization Attributes
- Confirm that the personalization attributes are available
- Create a mailing to test personalization
- Target the mailing to the sample Salesforce Contacts target group
- Add "First Name" personalization to the mailing
- Publish the mailing
- Confirm that the first name personalization is successfully pulled into the sent mailing
Mailing Activity - Confirm Write-Back
- In Thrive Marketing Professional, navigate to Admin -> Setup -> Bridge Configuration
- Confirm that the "Enable Mailing Activity Writeback" checkbox is marked
- Confirm that the "Sent" and "Opened" checkboxes are marked
- Set Writeback Frequency to "Manual Only"
- In Thrive Marketing Professional, navigate to Mailings and find the mailing that was sent to test personalization
- Hover over the mailing name and click "Send Activity" to send the mailing activity to Salesforce
- Under Writebacks, click Writeback List
- Confirm that the Mailing Activity write-back has a status of "Sent" (write-back may take a few minutes to be sent; periodically refresh the page until status is updated)
- Once the write-back has a status of "Sent," confirm that the test record has been updated with the mailing activity write-back
Unsubscribe - Confirm Write-Back
- In Thrive Marketing Professional, navigate to Subscribers -> Target Groups
- Find the sample target group that the was created, and drill down to view the subscriber record in the target group
- Unsubscribe the subscriber
- Navigate to Admin -> Setup -> Bridge Configuration
- Under Writebacks, click Writeback List
- Confirm that the unsubscribe write-back has a status of "Sent" (write-back may take a few minutes to be sent; periodically refresh the page until status is updated)
- Once the write-back has a status of "Sent," confirm that the test record has been updated with the unsubscribe write-back
Resubscribe - Confirm Write-Back
- In Thrive Marketing Professional, navigate to Subscribers -> Search
- Search for the test record that was previously unsubscribed
- Resubscribe the subscriber
- Navigate to Admin -> Setup -> Bridge Configuration
- Under Writebacks, click Writeback List
- Confirm that the resubscribe write-back has a status of "Sent" (write-back may take a few minutes to be sent; periodically refresh the page until status is updated)
- Once the write-back has a status of "Sent," confirm that the test record has been updated with the resubscribe write-back
