Higher Logic Thrive Marketing Enterprise includes detection logic that is designed to filter out non-human interactions (NHI).
NHI are typically triggered by security and anti-malware systems within email applications.
While detection-logic systems are critical for protecting user privacy, they sometimes mimic natural user actions (such as opening an email message) which can artificially inflate user-engagement metrics.
Remediation
Higher Logic is employing a multi-phase approach managing NHI and their impact on the "open" rates in your reports.
Phase I (Q3, 2025) - our engineering team implemented updates that to do a better job of identifying and filtering out the suspicious user agents that contribute to NHI.
Phase II (Q1, 2026) - we fine-tuned our logic to distinguish legitimate human "opens" from NHI. This improvement: reflects refinements to our classification logic and will provide a more accurate representation of genuine email engagement in future. This update will not retroactively affect reporting for messages that were sent prior to this update.
Phase III (Q2, 2026; tentative) - we plan to improve reporting so that we can display what your open rate would be with NHI included and with NHI filtered out.
Higher Logic's commitment
Higher Logic remains committed to ongoing improvements in our detection logic and reporting accuracy so that you can continue to make data-driven decisions with confidence.
