The Manage Networks page is where you can manage the visibility of your community networks for your community site.
Networks overview
In your community site, a network is a group of users who have the same value for a Demographic. So, networks are demographics-based groupings of community members.
Networks display on the My Connections > Networks page in users' profiles:
Networks are automatically created for a Demographic's Category when the following two "required" conditions are met:
- the Include in Networks box is checked (enabled):
- two or more users select the same demographic value.
TIP: You can manage the Include in Networks setting when you create and edit Demographic Categories on the Users > Demographics page.
NOTE: Newly created networks might not appear immediately when the abovementioned conditions occur because network entries often populate during overnight maintenance, rather than instantly.
Benefits of Networks
Networks are beneficial because Admins can use them to easily create segments of users who have something in common.
Those segments can then be used to, for example, more easily target communications to just that subset of users.
Access the Manage Networks page
To access the Manage Networks page:
- In the Admin Toolbar, click Admin.

Manage the list of Networks
If your community has a lost of Networks, below are some tips to help you quickly find Networks that you want to manage.
- This list page has only three columns.
- The list defaults to being alphabetized on the Network column.
- Click a column header to sort on that column; click the header again to reverse the sort order.
- An arrow icon indicates the sort order.
- You cannot sort on the Action column.
- Below the list you can manage the number of items that display and you can navigate additional pages.
Manage your Networks' visibility
Use this page to manage the visibility of your Networks on the My Connections > Networks page in users' profiles.
- In the Action column, toggle:
- a hidden Network's slider to the right (Shown); the Network now displays on the My Connections > Networks page.
- a visible Network's slider to the left (Hidden); the Network no longer displays on the My Connections > Networks page.
NOTE: This page does not have a save option. The "show/hide" action takes effect immediately.
TIP: Navigate to a few users' profiles and confirm that the Networks display or do not display, as expected, based on your settings.
