NOTE: This Higher Logic Technical Worksheet is intended for customers with Engagement Platform for Members.
The technical integration framework between your Association Management System (AMS) and Higher Logic is determined by the information received in this technical worksheet. This framework defines how Higher Logic interacts with the data in your AMS to create:
- member profiles,
- security groups,
- communities, and
- events.
Section I: Hosting information
Hosted with Protech

Section II: Importing records and granting member status
Higher Logic syncs all active records from your Protech database into your Community site.
- Do you want Higher Logic to exclude records who have opted out of the Directory in Protech (ex. DoNotList is yes): Yes / No
Communities will be created via the Higher Logic interface. As groups are created, they can be populated via upload, or users will be able join on their own, depending on your preferred privacy settings.
List the member roles that you want to sync to Higher Logic, and indicate whether each group should grant member status in Higher Logic.
Section III: Communities
Higher Logic will automatically add and subscribe your active members to an Open Forum community.
Higher Logic will create other community memberships based on Committees, Chapters, Sections, and Events in Protech.
Section IV: Events
A calendar of events, based on events in Protech, is created and available to your members in your Community site.
Section V: Single Sign-On
Single Sign-On (SSO) makes it possible for your members to move between your main organization website and your Community site without having to separately log in to each.
NOTE: Are you planning an SSO implementation with Higher Logic? If so, your implementation project may require a one-time fee for configuration and testing. Reach out to us to learn more.
Higher Logic will use the standard Protech SSO to allow users to sign into the site.
- If you plan to use SSO for your integration, provide "test" Member and Non-Member credentials below.

Higher Logic also supports OAuth, SAML, and OIDC SSO setups. If using one of these methods, talk to your implementation project manager for the appropriate setup information.
