The Higher Logic Thrive Platform Connection allows Higher Logic Thrive Marketing Professional (Thrive Marketing Professional) admins to import, and then periodically sync, personalization fields from Higher Logic Thrive Community (Thrive Community). The personalization fields display as table columns in Thrive Marketing Professional.

Personalization fields in Thrive Marketing Professional
As you work with Thrive Community personalization fields in your Thrive Marketing Professional account, consider the following notes.
- Because the personalization fields are imported from your Thrive Community, they are known as remote personalization fields in Thrive Marketing Professional.
- Thrive Community is considered the authoritative database for the personalization fields' data; updates, additions, and deletions should be made in that database only, not in Thrive Marketing Professional.
- Remote personalization fields are cached (i.e., stored locally) in Thrive Marketing Professional. Cached personalization fields' data are refreshed automatically (once a week, through a behind-the-scenes process); they can be manually refreshed, as described below in Manually refresh cached personalization fields.
- When personalization fields are enabled, they appear as selectable columns in any subscriber listing and you can preview the personal data in those fields.
Thrive Community personalization fields
The following table lists the Thrive Community personalization fields that are, by default, automatically included in every sync operation with Thrive Marketing Professional.
- You can also personalize Thrive Marketing Professional custom fields; they will be listed as Demographics.[Field name] in Personalization Cached Management when selecting fields to cache.
- You can cache up to 20 fields for use as personalizations in your Thrive Marketing Professional email messages.

Manually cache personalization fields
Personalization fields can be manually cached in Thrive Marketing Professional.
First, however, you have to enable personalization caching.
- Access the Thrive Marketing Professional admin interface.
- Navigate to Settings > System Settings.
- Check the box in the Personalization Cache section to enable caching.
- Scroll down and click Update.
Now you can choose which personalization fields to cache.
NOTE: Personalization fields that are cached must belong to the same target group type as the Group type selected on the Bridge Configuration page.
While still in the admin interface:
- Navigate to Settings > Setup > Bridge Configuration (Only UPI).
- Click List of Personalization Attributes to open the Personalizations page.
Your target group types display as expandable sections.
- Click the plus sign (+) for Online Community to expand it to display its list of personalization fields.
- Check the boxes (max. 20 per target group type) in the Caches Data column for the personalization fields that you want to include when caching.
- Click Save Changes & Refresh Cache at the top of the page.
- If at least one personalization field is selected for caching, the cache refresh is immediate and a confirmation message displays.
- If the integration bridge (between Thrive Marketing Professional and Thrive Community) is down, an error message displays.
- If you haven't selected any personalization fields, an error message displays.
Manually refresh cached personalization fields
You can manually refresh your personalization cache on the Bridge Configuration page.
- Navigate to Settings > Setup > Bridge Configuration (Only UPI).
NOTE: The details of the latest cache refresh display in the Personalization Cache section.
- Click Refresh Personalization Cache to refresh the data (i.e., the values) in the personalization fields that have been cached.
NOTE: When you publish a mailing to a remote subscriber, Thrive Marketing Professional uses the personalization values that have been cached.
