After you review your high-level Web Tracking performance details, you might want to dive a bit deeper into your reporting details.
- You can view information on specific Web Tracking reports in the Details tab of the Mailing Activity Report. For more info about the Mailing Activity Report, and how to access it, see Mailing Activity Report Overview.
The mailing will place a cookie in your browser, and this will allow the tracking details to be connected to that mailing (i.e., the web tracking results will be tied to that mailing directly). Remember, the site must be accessed via the mailing for the cookie to be placed.
NOTE: Web Tracking only tracks users who are "known" in the system. How do users become known? You'll need to send a mailing to your subscribers that contains at least one link to the website that you're tracking. When subscribers click a link to your website, Higher Logic Thrive Marketing Professional (Thrive Marketing Professional) will add two parameters to the end of your URL. Those parameters are analyzed by the Web Tracking codes to add cookies into the browser to track all future visits by the subscriber in question.
NOTE: Web Tracking is a powerful tool, but keep in mind that reports only show the pages that were visited. For example, if you have 100 pages on your website, but only 25 are visited, you'll only see 25 pages in Thrive Marketing Professional is 25. Remember, this assumes that a user has visited the page at least once after Web Tracking began collecting subscriber data.
