One of the first things you'll want to do when setting up Ideation is configure its high-level settings.

To configure Ideation settings:

In the Admin Toolbar, click Admin.

Navigate to Feedback > Ideation > Settings.

Configure Ideation on the settings page. The settings are described in the table below.
Click Save at the bottom of the page to apply your settings.

Ideation settings descriptions

Field	Description
Ideation name	If you'd like to change the name of the Ideation module, you can update it here.
Item name singular/plural	These two fields allow you to provide the module's singular and plural nomenclature.
Ideation description	This text displays on the Ideation Home page, and is a great way to explain the purpose of the module to your members (500 character max).
Who can view all submissions?	Controls who can view Ideation submissions: Public - Everyone (users with and without a login). Authenticated - Any logged in user. An authenticated user may or may not have Member permissions. Member - Users with Member permissions, commonly referred to as IsMember. Content and functionality is routinely protected to Member as a benefit of membership. Those with Member permissions also have access to content and functionality protected to Authenticated. Limit User Logged in Role(s) - Here, you can select from any of your custom Security Groups to further limit who can view submissions. See Manage Security Groups to learn more about Security Groups. NOTE: Uncheck all options in the menu to not allow anyone to view submissions.
Who can submit?	Controls who can submit ideas: Public - Everyone (users with and without a login). Authenticated - Any logged in user. An authenticated user may or may not have Member permissions. Member - Users with Member permissions, commonly referred to as IsMember. Content and functionality is routinely protected to Member as a benefit of membership. Those with Member permissions also have access to content and functionality protected to Authenticated. NOTE: Uncheck all options in the menu to not allow anyone to submit ideas.
Allow anonymous submissions	Controls whether users can submit ideas anonymously. If enabled, the Submit Anonymously option will be available to users when submitting ideas, allowing them to choose whether they want to submit anonymously or not.
Set Category as a required field	Controls whether a Category is required when a user submits an idea. If not enabled, ideas can be submitted without a Category being selected.
Who can vote and comment?	Controls who can vote and comment on Ideation submissions: NOTE: The Public option is not available for voting and comments. Authenticated - Any logged in user. An authenticated user may or may not have Member permissions. Member - Users with Member permissions, commonly referred to as IsMember. Content and functionality is routinely protected to Member as a benefit of membership. Those with Member permissions also have access to content and functionality protected to Authenticated. Limit User Logged in Role(s) - Here, you can select from any of your custom Security Groups to further limit who can vote and comment. See Manage Security Groups to learn more about Security Groups. NOTE: Uncheck all options in the menu to not allow anyone to vote or comment on submissions.
Allow downvotes?	Controls whether users can down vote on Ideation submissions. Each submission is displayed in a large card format on the Ideation Home page, with thumbs up and thumbs down buttons located at the bottom left of each card. If this option is disabled, the thumbs down button is removed.
Who can edit ideas?	Use the dropdown to grant Ideation-management permissions to non-Admin users, by Security Group. You can select more than one Security Group. Click the X to remove a selected Security Group. NOTE: If you don't use this option, your Super Admins can still manage Ideation.
