A message is considered "transactional" when it is based solely on a transaction between two parties and its exclusive intent is to convey information about that transaction.
Before you create a transactional message, it is important that you:
- understand its purpose and
- know whether to use a regular text-only message template or an attachment template.
This article:
- provides information on naming transactional messages;
- describes how to access the list of transactional messages in your account; and
- describes how to configure the properties of your transactional message.
Transactional message names
You have some options when naming a transactional message.
- Transactional message names can contain letters, numerals, and special characters.
- In the list, messages are ordered by name, as follows:
-
- names that start with a special character,
- names that start with a numeral, and
- names that start with a letter (in an A – Z alphabetized list).
Create a transactional message
In the Admin interface:
- Navigate to Messages > Transactional > List.
- Click Create Mailing.
- On the Create Transactional Mailing page, set the properties for the message.
