IMPORTANT: Our knowledge base articles reference blogs and blog articles. Depending on your product model, you might see news and news articles in your community. These are different names for the same feature and references to blogs are also applicable to news.
A blog is a free-form posting of thought or commentary, usually maintained by an individual or groups of individuals with regular entries.
Blogs in your community
Higher Logic understands the power and importance of blogs, so a Blogs module is automatically included with every site. Blog articles:
- Can be published at the community and user levels, and
- Be made available to the entire site, specific communities, or externally to users who aren't members of your community.
In blogs:
- You can tag blog articles to make them easier to organize and find, and you can rate blog articles that are of interest to you.
- Only users belonging to the HLBlogger Security Group can write blog articles. This change was made August 6, 2021 to help combat spammers abusing blogs to post malicious content. See Spam Mitigation - Restrict Blog Creation to learn more, and for steps on how to add users to this Security Group.
