The Admin Toolbar is your point of access to the various site- and community-management pages. When you log in as a Volunteer Admin, Site Admin, or Super Admin, the toolbar will be "sticky" across the top of your entire site to provide convenient access to your Admin pages.
NOTE: Volunteer Admins and Site Admins will see only the options that are available to them.
Accessibility & appearance
The Admin Toolbar and its options have been designed to comply with accessibility standards.
- Two color modes let you choose whichever is better for you with your Thrive Community site's color scheme.
- Your choice is preserved until you change it.
Dark mode
- The dark mode is light text on a dark background; this is indicated by the moon icon on the right.
- Click the icon to toggle to the light mode.
Light mode
- The light mode is dark text on a light background; this is indicated by the sun icon on the right.
- Click the icon to toggle to the dark mode.
Admin Toolbar options
Let's take a look at how to use the Admin Toolbar options.
TIP: The Edit Page and Edit Navigation options, and the options under Site Options, open their associated pages in the current window. You can right-click these for "new tab/window" options if you want to keep the current page open.
- Click Edit Page to open Page Designer in the current window. See Build Page Layout and Content to learn about Page Designer.
- Click Edit Navigation to open the CMS in the current window. See Understand the CMS to learn how to use the CMS.
- Click Return in the navigation bar to return to the community.
- Click Site Options and then a dropdown option to open the page in the current window.

- Click Return in the navigation bar to return to the community.
- Click Impersonate and then a dropdown option. See Getting Started with Impersonation to learn about this feature.
This places a 'sticky' message at the top of the browser. The message indicates which type of member you're impersonating.
Click Stop Impersonating to cancel & return to the standard environment.
