Access the tools
All of the tools that are described in this article are accessible in the Admin interface, via Community > Tools.
Convert Thread Type
Use this tool to convert an existing thread from one type to another within a community.
EXAMPLE: Convert a Discussion thread to a Q&A thread. You might feel that this "reclassification" is necessary based on the content and context of the thread, and might lead to better user engagement.
Learn about this tool in Convert Thread Type Tool.
Move Threads
Use this tool to move individual discussion threads and question threads to a different community.
EXAMPLE: Move a Q&A thread from one community to a different community. You might feel that the question (and its answers) would be more beneficial in a community with a focus that is better aligned with the content of the question.
Learn about this tool in Move Threads Tool.
Move Messages
Use this tool to move one or more discussion messages (i.e., a discussion post and its "child" replies) from one discussion thread to another.
EXAMPLE: Move a message and its individual replies to an existing thread in a different community. You might feel that this move is necessary based on the content of the message and the replies, and might better serve users in the "destination" community.
Learn about this tool in Move Messages Tool.
Merge Community Content
Use this tool to move community content from one or more Source communities to one Destination community, and merge that content with the Destination community's like content.
EXAMPLE: Move a community event to a different community. You might feel that the event would draw a larger audience in a community that shares the focus of the planned content of the event.
