Profile Fields are fields in your Contacts' database records where unique and personal attributes about those contacts are stored. The same Profile Fields are in all of your contact records, but the attributes (i.e., the values) in those fields will differ from one contact to another.
Profile Fields types
You can create several types of Profile Fields.
-
Personal Information - These are "free-form" fields that accommodate a variety of data types, and which can be used as a personalization field in messages and for targeting.
- See Personal Information Profile Fields to learn more.
- Demographics - These "picklist" fields have a set of values that you define (e.g., gender, state, country) and from which a contact can or must make a selection.
- Interest Groups - These fields make it easier for you to group your contacts by their shared interest in something. When you create an Interests profile field, a corresponding target group is automatically created as well. This simplifies sending messages to this group of contacts who have something in common.
- Opt-outs - These fields are a great way to let your contacts indicate that they no longer want to receive some of your organization's messages (which is a better option than contacts globally unsubscribing from all your messages).
