AI Privacy Settings explained
Below are descriptions of each of the AI Privacy Settings. Review these in order to fully understand the affect — on your community users and your community data — of your setting.
Remember everything
- Affect: This setting preserves user-provided data (e.g., names and other identifiers) in personal-information fields and full chat histories.
- Benefit: This setting is ideal if you want maximum continuity and context in your community's AI conversations and to ensure robust reporting.
Remove personal information fields, but retain chat history
-
Affect: This setting removes user-provided data (e.g., names and other identifiers) but retains the chat in order to preserve the conversation's "context." It also ensures robust reporting.
- The chat history that is retained is "anonymized" in the system.
- The chat history is not visible to a user because this setting hides the history panel.
- Benefit: This setting is ideal if you want reporting on community interactions with AI without retaining clearly identifiable user details.
Remove personal information AND chat history, but retain metrics on usage
-
Affect: This setting removes user-provided data (e.g., names and other identifiers) and the content of AI chats. It preserves high-level usage data (e.g., that a chat occurred, when it occurred, and in aggregate) for reporting.
- The chat history is not visible because this setting hides the history panel.
- Benefit: This setting is ideal in communities that require strict data minimization but which want as much data as possible in their reporting.
