A Personal Info field is where you store information about your subscribers; you can store details like First Name, Status, Age, or Birthday. Data can be typed directly into these fields in Higher Logic Thrive Marketing Professional (Thrive Marketing Professional), but most of the time you'll be using Subscriber Upload to bring data into these fields.
Once these fields are created and populated, they can be used for personalization and targeting.
Creating a Personal Info field
- Navigate to Subscribers > Profile Fields.
- Click Create at the top left.
- Select Personal Info from the menu.
- Click Create.
- Complete the form to configure your field.
Options
Field | Description |
---|---|
Field Name | Give your field a name. This will be displayed when it's on a subscription form. |
Data Type | Select the type of data that will be entered in this field:
|
Default Value | While adding a default value is optional, doing so will ensure that if you use personalization in your mailing, and your subscriber did not fill anything out, there will be a default value used. An example for First Name might be "Friend" or "Valued Member." |
# of Characters to Accept | Define the number of characters subscribers will be required to enter when filling out this field. |
Propercase on Upload | Check this box if you want data for this field proper-cased (first letter capitalized, all other letters lowercase) when data is uploaded into this field. |
- Click Save to create your new Personal Info field.
NOTE: Once you've created a Personal Information field, you shouldn't delete it because if it's used in data formats or target groups, that information will become incomplete and Thrive Marketing Professional will not be able to read it. If you do try to delete the information, Thrive Marketing Professional will display an error message.
