An animated GIF is a file that contains multiple images in a single file. They're great for making your mailings more lively, and are often used in holiday mailings.
Resources for creating animated GIFs
You can create an animated GIF using either of these tools:

NOTE: These two tools are simply some popular tools available to create GIFs. These tools are not directly supported by Higher Logic Thrive Marketing Professional (Thrive Marketing Professional).
Email clients that support animated GIFs
Video support across all email clients is inconsistent, making an animated GIF your best bet. An animated GIF has almost universal support across all of the major email clients, except for Outlook.
NOTE: When using certain versions of Outlook, only the first frame of the animated GIF will display. This means if you have any important information in the subsequent frames, make sure the first frame holds that pertinent information.
The following email clients support animated GIFs:

- Apple Mail
- Lotus Notes 6, 7 and 8.5
- Outlook 2003, Express
- Outlook 2007, 2010 (only first frame displays)
