This article describes the AI Features page in the Admin interface. The AI Features page is where Super Admins can:
- review and accept the AI Terms and
- enable the AI Features that they want available in their communities.
IMPORTANT: In order to be able to use any of the AI features, a Super Admin in your account must review and accept the AI Terms.
The AI Terms have to be accepted only once per account. It is not necessary for each Super Admin to individually accept the terms.
Accept the AI Terms to enable AI features
To review and accept the AI Terms:
- In the Admin Toolbar, click Admin.
- Navigate to AI Features > AI Feature Opt-In.
If the Access AI Features box displays as shown below, the terms have already been accepted.
- You can use any of the features that have been enabled.
- You can enable any of those that haven't been enabled.
- AI Features have to be individually enabled on this page in order to be available for use.
If the Review AI Terms button displays in the Access AI Features box, the terms have not yet been accepted.
- You must click the button and review and accept the terms in order to be able to use Higher Logic's AI features.
- After you accept the terms, the box displays an informational message which confirms your acceptance by indicating that you (as the terms-accepting Super Admin) will be notified when indexing has completed.
TIP: If your account has other Super Admins, consider letting them know that the terms have been accepted and the AI features will soon be available.
AI Features in Higher Logic
The AI Features page is where you enable the AI features for use in your community. Note that some AI features:
- have only to be enabled and are then immediately available for use in your community site.
- have to be configured in the Admin interface in order to be used in your community site.
AI Assistant & AI Search
Enable this feature to enhance your community users' search experience with AI Assistant, AI Search, and AI Search Agents.
- AI Assistant is the widget that opens when the AI sparkle icon is clicked in the community. Users specify their search term and initiate the search, which is limited to the community.
- AI Search displays the results of the AI Assistant search, along with the referenced sources, and the "ask for help" option (refer to the Get help settings section, below) with which users can post in the community.
- AI Search Agents are custom-built "search assistants" that you can enable for more focused search results by having the Search Agents target subsets of your community content based on community name, type of content, and/or tags that have been applied to the content.
IMPORTANT: When you enable this feature, your site has to be manually "indexed" by Higher Logic in order for the feature to function in your environment. The indexing typically takes less than 48 hours and when it is complete, an email message is sent to the Super Admin who enabled the feature.
- To learn about AI Search Agents, see Create and Manage AI Search Agents.
- Manage your AI Search Agents in Admin: AI Features > AI Search Agents.
NOTE: When AI Search is enabled, its search activity is captured in the Search Terms report, but only for the first search term that a user inputs.
Edit the settings
You can customize the settings for the AI Assistant and AI Search features right on the enable page. It's a good idea to do this now, before these features are used in the community, although you can return here and manage these settings in future.
- Click the Edit Settings button to open the Settings dialog.
- Use the information below (for the upper and lower portions of the dialog) to manage the settings for AI Assistant and AI Search.
Display and permissions settings
Display Name for AI Assistant
You can set a name for AI Assistant. This name displays wherever the assistant appears in your community. You can:
- accept the default name, AI Assistant, or
- specify a custom name for the feature.
TIP: The Display Name can be individually managed, per Search Agent, when you create or edit an agent.
Disclaimer
Use this field to provide information to your community users about the AI Assistant feature. The Disclaimer displays on the AI Assistant widget and on the AI Search results widget.
- accept the default message, AI can make mistakes., or
- specify a custom message with which to inform or caution your users about using the feature and the search results that it generates.
View Permissions
You can set which community users AI Assistant will be visible to.
NOTE: AI Assistant is always visible to all Super Admins.
- Super Admin - limits the visibility of AI Assistant to Super Admins only.
-
All Logged In - limits the visibility of AI Assistant to community users who have logged in (and Super Admins).
- AI Assistant will not be visible to non-logged in users or to "public" visitors to the community.
-
Security Group - presents a dropdown from which you can select one group in order to limit the visibility of AI Assistant to just that Security Group (and Super Admins).
- AI Assistant will not be visible to: community users who are not in the Security Group, non-logged in users, or "public" visitors to the community.
Get help settings
Lead-in Text
This text prompts users to get help with their search for information. This text displays on the AI Assistant widget and on the AI Search results widget.
- accept the default text, Need opinions? AI can help you post., or
- specify custom text for your community.
Button Text
This text displays on the "ask for help" button which encourages users to request help from fellow community users by posting a discussion. The button displays on the AI Assistant widget and on the AI Search results widget.
- accept the default button text, Ask your fellow humans, or
- specify custom button text for your community.
If the Enable AI drafting checkbox (described below) is:
- checked: then, when a user clicks the button, AI will automatically draft post-content for the user, which the user can post in the community as a Discussion.
- not checked: then, when a user clicks the button, the Post a Message page opens, and the user can create a message and post it to a community as a Discussion or a Question.
Enable AI drafting
You can enable (check the box) the "draft a post" feature to simplify the "ask for help" action. When this setting is enabled and a community user clicks the button, AI Assistant automatically mines information from community chats and uses it to "draft" a discussion post. The user can:
- select a community in which to post;
- edit the subject;
- review the post text and
- accept it,
- make changes (content and/or formatting) to it, or
- replace all of it;
- post the discussion to the community.
Library Bulk Upload with AI
The AI enhancement to the bulk-upload feature gives Super Admins and Community Admins the option to have AI create titles and/or descriptions for Library Entries based on the content of the uploaded file.
- To learn about this AI feature, see Bulk Upload with AI Generation.
AI Formal Tag Suggestions
When this feature is enabled, AI scans select areas of your community looking for commonalities, repetition, and keywords and then, based on the scan's results, it offers a list of "suggested tags." You can review the suggestions and choose whether to accept or reject them.
- To learn about this AI feature, see AI Suggested Tags.
- Manage your AI Formal Tag Suggestions in Admin: Settings > Tags and Mentions > AI Suggestions.
