There are two ways to gain insight into how your Member Management program is performing:
- Run the dues report to see how much money your Membership Types are earning.
- View/export the Memberships list to understand basic details about your members, like the start/end dates of memberships, the price paid for memberships, each member's renewal status, and more.
View the Dues report
The Member Management system includes a simple but effective report allowing you to see how much your various Membership Types are earning on a monthly or quarterly basis.
To run this report:
- In the Admin Toolbar, click Admin.
- Navigate to Membership > Dues Report.
This page lists each of your Membership Types, along with an overview of their earnings. The combined total is displayed at the bottom.
- Use the View menu to display the data Monthly or Quarterly.
- Use the Year menu to select which year to report on.
- Click the down arrow icon to export the data to an Excel spreadsheet.
Membership list data
In addition to viewing the overall earnings of your Membership Types via the Dues report, you can leverage the Memberships list to obtain additional data about your Member Management program.
To access the Memberships List:
- In the Admin Toolbar, click Admin.
- Navigate to Membership > Membership.
This page lists each of your members (i.e., users who have purchased one of your Membership Types). Here, you can quickly see each member's:
- Membership Type
- membership start/end date
- how much they paid
- renewal status
Export Membership list data
You can export a list of the member records for each of the Memberships list pages: Active, Lapsed, and Renewals.
Click the down arrow icon (Export) at the top right of the list to download this member data to a CSV file. In addition to the data shown on the Memberships list itself, the exported spreadsheet provides an additional insight:
- whether a discount code was used to pay for the membership.
Notes about exporting
- The export file contains all of the default columns for the list, even columns that are hidden when the export occurs.
- The export honors all active filters.
- Higher Logic recommends giving each exported file a unique name to distinguish it from others because each export file is given the same default name. A best practice is to append the export date to the file name. The export does append sequential numbering — (1), (2), (3), etc. — to each subsequent export file if a file with the default file name is in the save-to location.
