Landing Pages are online forms on dedicated web pages (they have unique URLs) that exist -- not as part of your standard website -- but as part of a marketing campaign. Their purpose is to gather information from your contacts, but they can be further configured to perform follow-up actions.
Landing pages can be:
- Embedded on your site or hosted by Thrive Marketing Enterprise and promoted through SEO (Search Engine Optimization), as described in Section 3: Configure Landing Page Hosting.
- Configured to take actions after a landing page is submitted, as described in Section 4: Define Post Submission Actions.
- Set up to trigger database-management activity on integrated CMS/AMS databases, as described in Section 5: Integration Options.
Additional Landing Page notes
Things you should know about landing pages.
- Landing page campaigns must include, at a minimum, an email address field.
- Landing page campaigns are designed exclusively to collect data that map to personal and demographic fields; they are not intended to be used for Integration Preference Management (IPM). If you're interested in creating an IPM page, create a case.
- If your account is using Custom Fields, Shared Enhanced Fields, and/or Private Enhanced Fields, they (as well as Standard Fields) can be inserted into a landing page campaign via a Form Field zone (see Message Editor - Zones) to simplify data-collection.
TIP: Use the Landing Page Templates page to create and manage landing pages templates. Templates make it easy to apply a consistent appearance (such as your organization's color scheme) to your landing pages. Each landing page campaign can then be customized for its specific purpose, while maintaining that consistent appearance. Learn more about Manage Landing Page Campaign Templates.

Access Your Landing Pages
- Access the Admin interface.
- Click Landing Pages > List.
TIP: On list pages, click a column header to sort on that column. Click the columns count below the list to add and remove columns in the current view.
The Landing Pages list page displays your organization's landing pages by name, numerically then alphabetically.
NOTE: All landing page names that start with a number will be listed before landing page names that start with a letter. For example, 2019 Renewal and 2020 Welcome would appear earlier in the list than Renewal 2019 and Welcome 2020. Keep this in mind when creating/naming your landing pages.
Start Date and End Date columns
These columns might be blank, depending on the landing page campaign's set up and other factors.
- Regardless of whether a start date has been configured, the column gets populated only when the landing page campaign actually starts.
- If a landing page campaign has been configured with an end date, that date will display in the End Date column as soon as the landing page campaign is deployed.
- If you stop a landing page campaign that does not have a scheduled end date, the End Date column will not get updated.
Locate Landing Pages
There are a few features that you can use to more quickly locate landing pages.
- Use the column headers (click to sort on) if you know who created the landing page or one of the date columns if you know that there was recent activity (e.g., created, modified); this will re-order the list and bring to the top those with recent activity.
- Use the Search feature if you know the name of the landing page and to find landing pages with similar names. The search also queries the Status and Created By fields.
NOTE: The search field is not case-sensitive; "M" and "m" will yield the same results.
- Use the Filters option if you know which folder a landing page is in. You can also filter by Initiative if your account uses them.
NOTE: Initiatives are a way to group landing page campaigns that are stored in separate folders. For example, you could name an Initiative 2019 and then group some of that year's landing page campaigns that are stored (and can remain) in separate folders based on their purpose or audience. See Campaigns Dashboard for more information.
Getting in the habit of using these features will simplify locating your landing pages so you can get to the business of managing them and using them to keep your contacts engaged.
Manage Landing Pages
There are several action buttons above the list that you can use to manage your landing pages.
To activate the buttons, you have to select a landing page, and then you can:
- Edit various options and conditions. Refer to Set up a Landing Page, below, to learn more about editing a landing page.
- Create a copy of it by clicking Save as and giving the copy a unique name.
- Rename the landing page.
- Remove it by clicking Delete.
- Click Track to open the landing page's "overview" page with statistical data (start date, members count, days running count, and status).
- Click Preview to view the Preview Campaign dialog which displays a summary of the landing page details.
NOTE: The information that is presented will be unique to each landing page.
Create a Landing Page
The bulk of creating landing pages is done on the Setup Landing Page page, which has multiple sections that are described below in Set up a Landing Page.
To create a landing page:
- On the Landing Pages list page, enter a name in the New Landing Page field at the top and click Create New.
NOTE: Landing page names can contain and can start with a number. Those that start with a number will be listed before those that start with a letter. For example, 2019 Renewal and 2020 Welcome would appear earlier in the list than Renewal 2019 and Welcome 2020.

Set up a Landing Page
The landing page Setup page has several sections in which you choose options, make selections, and specify values that comprise the mechanics of the landing page. These sections are detailed below.
TIP: Use the convenient on-page information boxes (accessible from the circled "i" icon) for details on how to configure the various options when creating and editing landing pages.
Section 1: Create Landing Page
OBJECTIVE: In this section, you'll initiate your landing page creation, manage an existing landing page and, optionally, choose whether to use A/B Testing.
- Click the Create New image.
NOTE: If you are editing a landing page, the Create New box will display an image of the landing page that has already been designed. If there is no image, the landing page probably does not yet have a template chosen. You can manage the landing page with the following options.
- Click either the image or Edit to make changes to the landing page in the Designer. See Understand the Message Editor and Message Editor - Zones for more detailed design instructions.
- Click Delete (and Yes at the prompt) to delete the landing page.
- Click Details to see creation and template information.
NOTE: If you want to add A/B Testing to your landing page, refer to A/B Testing, below.
- On the Landing Page Form Template page, select a Landing Page template.
- In the Designer, add text, images, and form fields to design your landing page. See Understand the Message Editor and Message Editor - Zones for more detailed design instructions.
- When you have finished designing your landing page, click the Menu tab, and then click Return to Campaign to continue working on your landing page.
- Continue working through the numbered sections.
Use this option to configure and send two landing pages, and then compare them to see which was the more effective.
- Click the Add A/B Test Page icon. This will:
- Add a Create New image so that you can add a landing page for comparison and
- Update section 3 to Determine A/B Test Winner so that you can configure the "winning" conditions. Note that sections 3, 4, and 5 will become 4, 5, and 6.
- Select how the winner of your A/B Test will be determined. You can choose:
- The first landing page to reach a specified number - when a number of submissions is reached and then specify a number in the field.
- The landing page with more submissions - by the number of submissions on a date and then specify a date and a time in the fields.
You can also send a notification when a winner is chosen and automatically show the winning page to future visitors.

Section 2: Configure Confirmation Message
OBJECTIVE: In this section, you can choose what happens in the browser after a contact has submitted the landing page.
- Confirmation message - The landing page remains and a "submitted" confirmation message displays. Contacts can then close or navigate away.
- Redirect user - Contacts will be automatically taken to a URL that you specify in the URL field.
Section 3: Configure Landing Page Hosting
OBJECTIVE: In this section, you choose where the landing page will be hosted: the Higher Logic site (the default) or your site.
Higher Logic site
Landing Pages that are hosted on the Higher Logic site are hosted on the domain realmagnet.land. Three elements make up the landing page URL.
- Your vanity sub-domain (red). You can name this whatever you would like; this is your customizable space. Your account can use multiple vanity sub-domains.
- The host domain (green). This is the domain where the page is hosted; it cannot be modified.
- The landing page-specific name (purple). By default, we append the landing page name to the URL but you can specify any text that you want.
NOTE: You can click https to select the non-secure http, but Higher Logic recommends not doing this.
TIP: Click Copy URL to get a pop-up box with the complete URL that you can copy and save.
You can also specify:
- Google Analytics Tracking Code
- Google Tag Manager Code
- A redirect URL (Note that this redirect option is active only after the campaign has ended. Visitors to the landing page URL can be automatically redirected to your home page, or a results page, or wherever you decide.)
If Higher Logic is hosting the page, you can also add meta keywords and a meta description to bolster your presence in Search Engine Optimization (SEO).
If you're going to host the landing page, you've got two options as regards the CSS styles that are used for your website. You can choose:
- IFRAME to have the landing page ignore your native CSS styles and instead use those that were configured when the landing page was created.
- DIV to have the landing page inherit your native CSS styles.
NOTE: The landing page will not work if its DIV code is inserted into a different form.
Copy the chunks of code and paste them as instructed into your host page.
Section 4: Define Post Submission Actions
OBJECTIVE: In this section, you can configure a number of actions (e.g, send a message, add the contact to a group) to be automatically triggered after a contact submits the landing page.
- Click + Post submission action.
- Click Select an action.
- Choose an action and then use its links to configure its condition.
- These actions are independent of one another; there is no sequential dependency, so they an be set up in any order.
- You can use the same action multiple times. For example, you can set up several messages to be sent by configuring multiple Send message actions.
- You can select multiple groups when you click Add to group > Select Group(s).
- You can click an X to delete an action or simply replace it by clicking the action again and choosing a different one.
Section 5: Integration Options
OBJECTIVE: In this section, you can instruct your Thrive Marketing Enterprise account to act on a synchronized, integrated database (CMS/AMS) based on contact interactions with this landing page.
You can choose to have Thrive Marketing Enterprise automatically check whether matching contact records exist in an integrated database -- and if they don't exist, Thrive Marketing Enterprise can:
- Create new records in your iMIS database.
- Add member records in Salesforce and set the status to Submitted.
If you select the Salesforce option, you can:
- Specify a campaign ID and
- Choose whether to create new records for this campaign in Salesforce.
NOTE: The new records for this campaign can be either leads or contacts.
When you've completed all the relevant sections, click Next.
NOTE: If you click Next and there are incomplete sections, you will be prompted to "fix the errors" before you can proceed to the Review page.
NOTE: Thrive Marketing Enterprise does not "QA" the logic of your conditions. You should review your selections before proceeding.
Review a Landing Page
The landing page Review page presents a summary of your configuration options.
- In the upper portion of the page, click Print Screen to open a "preview" of this page. You can print a copy or choose one of the save options.
Some conditions might appear as links, such as Welcome Message #2 (2019 SF) in the image.
- To preview the message in a new tab, click the message title link here and in the Review Send Action dialog. This is a useful "check" before deploying the landing page.
After reviewing your landing page setup, click Next.
Deploy a Landing Page
The landing page Deploy page is your last opportunity to review your landing page details. If you're satisfied and want to proceed:
- Choose when to start the landing page campaign by either accepting the "immediately" option or selecting the "schedule" option and choosing a date and time.
- Choose when to end the landing page campaign by either accepting the "manually" option or selecting the "schedule" option and choosing a date and time.
- Click Deploy Campaign.
- At the confirmation prompt, click Yes.
The page will refresh and update the Schedule section with your start and end selections. Also, now there's a Campaign Status section in which you can cancel the pending deployment.
>TIP: Navigate back to the Landing Pages list page and confirm that your landing page is listed and that its details are correct.
